How it started
Every year, one out of every ten Americans is affected by a serious crime. These crimes can happen anywhere: on the street, in the classroom, even in our own homes. Wouldn’t it be brilliant if someone developed a simple and easy way to prevent or deter these crimes from happening? We founded FaceFile to do just that.
About our service
By functioning as a personal protection system and crime preventer, FaceFile has the ability to deter crime and even save lives. Through a combination of advanced technologies and the use of a cell phone’s camera, FaceFile has become the first personal protection system of its kind. The service is free and works by using a cell phone with a camera and text messaging or email capabilities.
The camera is used to document suspicious activity or when meeting new and unfamiliar people. The image is sent to the user’s private FaceFile account where it is stored in his/her Personal Security Journal. An instant safety alert is immediately sent to the user’s friends and family network to notify them that the sender filed a new photo in their account and might be in danger. The alert will prompt the user’s network to check in with him/her. If necessary, and once verified, law enforcement authorities would be granted temporary access to the account to view any activity.
Our mission
FaceFile is dedicated to helping people protect themselves, their families and their property. Our purpose is to prevent dangerous situations that can occur when meeting new people, deter personal and property crime, and assist law enforcement officials in their prosecution of these offenses if they should happen. Our objective is to help individuals maintain a strong sense of security and freedom while they go about their daily lives.
